Modal Delay was first conceived in sound design sessions while experimenting with conventional delay based effects. I developed a fascination with the harmonic quality of self-feeding delay lines with short delay times. Expanding on that concept, I created a delay effect that could produce chords.

At Modal Delay's core are four tunable delay lines that are quantized to the user’s choice of scale. Modal Delay includes built in scales covering the 7 main musical modes, and also allows for user defined scales.
